Life Lessons from Riley

My blind, arthritic, deaf, abstinent, never-nude, and scarred friend teaches me life lessons. For 14 years he's roamed these streets and combed these fields, never paying for meals. He's broke, unemployed, can't see shit, and doesn't pay rent. He's been mounted, crotch bitten, and infected, more than once. His behavior distracts others from his purpose. He hourly sleeps, has no responsibilities, gets massaged daily, and habitually urinates in his living room. Still, lobster tail, cashmere pillows, steak, Aquafina, are his treasures. He has a nose for good taste. Distinguished, he's got stlye, never seen without a full beard and weathered coat. He loves meaningful touch. He greets, eats, and has big dreams. Everyone cherishes his presence, obeying his call their balls are clapping. He enjoys the finer things in life. My dog's being is a life lesson.
